Government/Economics
Instructor: Mr. Bronner
Economics is the study of how people produce, distribute and consume goods and services in our economy.  It is all about the decisions we make daily to allocate our scarce resources.  Economics is about planning, budgeting and using our economic decision making system in order to best decide:  What to produce, how and how much to produce, and who gets it.  Economics is all about resource allocation, how we will use our land, labor, capital and entrepreneural talents to meet our needs and wants.

Government is the study of our American governmental and political system, where it came from, how it has changed and its effects on us in our daily life.  The purpose of this class is to stress responsible citizenship through knowledge, research and comprehension of American government and the American political system.  Participatory citizenship is the goal.

All Econ this year!
Hello econ parents and students.  The students have gone over the class syllabus and all know what is expected of them.  They all have their semester projects and due dates in their notes.  No excuses, parents check with your student for that syllabus and their notes on the due dates.
This Friday, next Tuesday and Wed. we will be in the library starting our stock market project and their country report research.  Part 1 of their stock market project is due next Wed.  Their country report is due Sept. 30.
Back in the classroom we will start with why study economics.  Ask your students about minimum wage laws and typical consumer spending and saving.
When they get their books you should see them at home ALL of the TIME.  They also have a room-set of books here.  We start out with chapters 1,2 and 15.
Good luck this year!
